Some artists are redefining the sculptural limits of wool, and creating wearable and unusual art by playing with shape, texture, and functionality. Hisano Takei, for example, pushes the boundaries of what we would typically think of as a scarf by producing three-dimensional works that take on a life of their own. The soft property of wool allows for sensuous curves and an unusual conception of space.
